BC Beer – Tree Hophead IPA
After drinking this beer many times I should probably write something about it. It would be courteous to so as the beer is quite good, providing it’s fresh. Age does not help Hophead in any way.
Hophead has an aroma with a strong piney-spruce aroma leading to an orange marmalade with a gentle bready malt presence throughout. When drank the malt picks up and the breadiness is joined by caramel and toffee flavours. The hops become much more lively. The orange marmalade flavour turns to a sweet lemon zest and no sooner does the beer dry up leaving a subtle, but lingering, piney bitterness on the tongue.
BC’s third best bottled or canned IPA, but that’s just this man’s opinion. But, it’s probably true.
