BC Beer – Lighthouse Keepers Stout
I wish Lighthouse would advertise their Keepers Stout more. I can see why they don’t. A lot people still think you can taste colour in beer (you can’t). Keepers Stout is one of the better beers made in BC, and is always sure to please. This is the fourth post I’ve typed out tonight, not feeling witty or verbose anymore, so let’s just start.
Keepers has a nice cocoa, coffee, roasty-toasty with a bit of smoke in its aroma. When drank the flavours pick up with the coffee comings through more so than the cocoa. Joined by hints of dark fruits and nut. The roasted malt provides a pleasant cocoa-like bitterness that very gently hugs your tongue. Keepers has finishes dry. Overall a solid stout that is what Guinness should be.
If you have one of those friends who only deviates from the ‘normal beer’ with Guinness, then give them a glass of this souped-up Guinness-like beer. If they don’t like it then punch them in face. Maybe it’ll fix their palate, because something is clearly wrong with it.

I hate to say it but I would love to start seeing a lot of people getting punched in the face! Thanks for the great review.
Cheers to stout drinkers!

This is one of the overlooked great beers in Victoria. A proper dry stout with more flavour than you would expect from a little can.
