BC Beer – Granville Island Rogers Imperial Chocolate Stout
I really enjoyed the end results of Rogers and Granville Island’s last collaboration back in March. It considered it the best chocolate beer I’ve ever drunken at the that point. And until now it was held on to it’s title.
The Rogers Imperial Chocolate Stout lives up to it’s name. It’s a ramped up version of the original. Everything that was good in the original was made great in this version. All the flavours were bigger and richer. It is almost as black as a beer can be with the edges only letting light through. The aroma of chocolate is strong, vanilla and dark fruits also coming through. Incredibly smooth with a medium to full body, very chocolately with hints of dried fruits. A slight bitterness from the chocolate comes through with a coffee flavour and a gentleness touch of alcohol showing up on the finish.

Had this last night – I really enjoyed it too! Definitely one of the best Choc Stouts I have had.
Loved it. Leaves Phillips Longboat in the dust. Not as good as Brooklyn.
The Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout doesn’t actually use any chocolate. Speaking of, I need to get me some of this years.
Cool, I still haven’t tried this one. Coming to think of it, I shouldn’t have read this before trying it. You gotta try the Baird Russian Imperial Stout
